sushirestaurants.com for sale at a good price

After writing on his blog that he recently acquired the domain SushiRestaurants.com, Elliot has now announced that he is selling the domain name for $24,000.

I don’t think he will have any problem getting his BIN price and think that perhaps he should be asking more.

Here’s why.

What to the numbers say

There are more than a million google results for “sushi restaurants” and “sushi restaurant”.

The google adwords tool lists hundreds of great keywords for advertisers to bid on for “sushi restaurants”. At least 100 of the keywords are solid keywords with a lot of advertiser bids.

I took the top four keywords from the Adwords tool and put them in the traffic estimator and google showed about 500 hits per day. Remember, I only checked the top four keywords, not the list of hundreds!

If you could not make $100 per day in google or yahoo ads, I would be very surprised.

Work hard, get paid

As with everything else in life, hard work pays off.

The #1 position in google is held right now by sushiref.com and they have 7000+ pages but the majority of them look to be duplicate content. They also have 2000+ backlinks but many of them do not appear to be themed backlinks with relevant anchor text.

This site should not be too hard to outrank. If you built a content rich site of 1000+ pages, got 500+ themed backlinks and continued to build links with relevant anchor text, you should be able to rank #1 and you might even become an authority site. Remember that google likes to rank and give authority site status to well optimized sites. Just look at palmsprings.com as an example. No matter how hard anyone tries, they cannot kick them out of the #1 spot for “palm springs” in google.

To develop the site, I would build a directory with phpmydirectory. I would set my goal to add three pages of content and get one quality backlink each day. After twelve months of hard work, you should have 1000 pages and 500 backlinks. You should also be ranked in google and yahoo after twelve months as well.

You could easily make $100 per day just on google or yahoo ads, once you rank in the top spots in google and yahoo for “sushi restaurants”.

But the long term play with this domain is the advertiser revenue from selling direct ads to the sushi restaurants listed in your directory. With thousands of listings paying hundreds each per month, you’d get a great return on your investment in this domain in no time.
